Indian Medical Academy is a forum for healthcare professionals, which aims to become the voice of the profession in the country. The academy trains its sights on effecting improvements in the practice of medicine through specific and sustained interventions. To this end it focuses on taking up the most pressing issues arising out of the day to day practice of clinical medicine. In doing this it makes an attempt to smoothen the process of healthcare delivery at both the doctors’ and the patients’ ends. The overall approach is to engage with health professionals both on an individual and an institutional level so as to identify issues and take them up in the right earnest. In tandem with this it focuses on promoting the human face of medicine by promoting ethical practices.
