Our organization always strives to maintain the equilibrium in Official Work and Social Work. We always keep organizing various Social activities to keep up the Feel Good factor. One such activity was organized by ViaMedia on this Saturday, 2nd of July.
We had a visit to SOS Village. We reached there at 1'o clock in the afternoon. The moment we stepped out of the car, we felt like being at one of the most calm and pleasant place. The wilderness looked untouched from the buzz and busyness of Metropolitan life. There, we were welcomed by the Village In charge Ms. Meena. She guided us through the lush green campus of SOS Village towards the Office. Reaching office, we handed over the Donation of Rs 5000/- and some goodies on behalf of our NGO, Heal Foundation and Rs 4700/- as individual contribution.
From there, we went to all the houses. The village comprised of 5 duplex homes and 51 Children. Every home had a Mother with about 10 Children aged 1 to 14 yrs. Mother's responsibility was to properly up bring every children. This included activities like preparing Breakfast, feeding them, getting then ready for School, helping them in their studies & other day to day activities and the most important thing, showering Motherly Care upon them. The children looked very joyous and resplendent in their world. The love that every child shared amongst each other was noticeable and the kind of respect they showed to the mother was adorable as if she was their own mother. This was vice versa as mother accepted all children with her open arms and used to care them like her own children.
We had a conversation with some of the children to know about their interests and future goals. They had diversified interest. They were provided full support to nurture their qualities. As the one who wanted to become a dancer used to get dance classes. The other who wanted to be a painter used to get painting classes. Some wanted to become doctors, engineers and fashion designers. Accordingly, their studies were nurtured. Two of them recently got admission in DU. They all were provided facilities as per their qualities. Thus we saw varied qualities under one shed.
After having a time of our social life, we greeted them bye bye and rolled back again towards our own busy life. The experience we had with the children really proved that blood relation is not the only relation that exists, there are many relations that don’t have name still their existence prevails. This was an incredible experience of feeling humanity from so close; I thank the management for providing this opportunity which would have not been possible otherwise.
